The wine displays a rich and bold character, showcasing intense fruit flavours that you can expect from an Montepulciano.

This first vintage of the beloved Italian grape variety is cultivated on a quaint vineyard located in the hills above Harvey.

The wine has a dark core with a delicate plum-purple rim, offering pronounced dark fruit notes, intricate tobacco hints, and earthy undertones. It features a dry, robust tannin structure that lingers until the finish, complemented by a natural acidity that enhances the intense flavours of blackberry and dark cherries.

Can’t help thinking this Montepulciano fits in beautifully with that aromatic-rich comparison with its black cherry, red plum, cranberry, blueberry and dried herbs, all upfront and delightfully vying for your attention. It’s chockful with red fruits and spice on the palate with an intriguing whisper of cracked pepper and just a touch of savouriness which provides that extra degree of interest. Acidity is fresh and vibrant. It’s a top recipe for good drinking."

"The second vintage of this wine. The nose is rather subdued, but some nice gravelly black fruits and a little musk stick and dried meatiness. The palate has more vibrancy, with purple fruit, black cherries,  musk stick, crushed violets and a smattering of spice and a graphite note. The palate is juicy and plush, with tight-knit broody tannins and plenty of crunch and lift, though the finish is a little drying. There is lots of potential here, and I look forward to seeing this wine continue through many more vintages. Drink now to 3 years."
